Nutrition & Longevity
As decedents of the gray wolf, dogs are facultative carnivores which means they utilise carbs when needed, but do not thrive on them. So why is kibble made of 43% carbs on average? Instinctively dogs eat 60% protein. So why is kibble only 25% protein on average? Is this why around the same time kibble became the routine diet for pet dogs, there was a drastic rise in cancer and obesity?
After beginning the journey to feeding a real food diet, we are convinced that dogs are only surviving on kibble - not thriving as they should be!
Our Founder, Lisa Telle, is a Certified Professional Canine Nutritionist out of The Feed Real Institute, the first Veterinarian Approved Institute for a real food diet. We are raw and lightly cooked focused, but also provide solutions for a more nutritious kibble bowl.
